Spa Maintenance: Quality Products for Clear and Limpid Water

To ensure an optimal relaxation experience and extend the life of your jacuzzi or pool, it's essential to adopt a regular maintenance routine and use high-quality products. Discover our complete range of products designed to meet all your spa maintenance needs for water balance, disinfection, water quality, or water analysis. At Boospa, we are committed to helping our customers with quality products. You can find spa bromine, chlorine, chlorine-free shock treatments, descalers, algaecides, test strips, and many other products in our stock. Whether you own a massage spa or an inflatable spa, maintenance is equally important.

How to Properly Maintain Spa Water?

Maintaining water quality is essential to avoid cloudy water or bacterial growth. Here are our tips to ensure proper spa maintenance:

  • Water Filtration: Your filtration pump should be activated daily, even if your spa is not in use, especially if you have an inflatable spa. Additionally, it is recommended to clean your filter regularly, approximately every week, and replace it every two months. Poorly maintained filtration systems can cause malfunctions and affect water quality.
  • Disinfection of Your Spa: The jacuzzi uses high temperatures that can vary between 32°C and 40°C, promoting the proliferation of bacteria and germs. Water treatment is crucial. Recommended products include chlorine, bromine, active oxygen spa, and, if your spa has one, an ozonator. Depending on your usage, it is advised to use these products once every two weeks or once a week if you use your spa daily.
  • Water Balance and Quality Control: Frequently monitor your spa's pH level. It should be between 7.2 and 7.8. If the result is higher, your water is too acidic and harmful. Conversely, if the level is too low, the water is basic and can be corrosive. We offer a range of products to adjust your water balance with pH- or pH+ spa.
  • Draining Your Jacuzzi: Renewing the water every 3-4 months ensures clear water and prevents problems like cloudy or green water, especially if you use your spa frequently and don't perform regular maintenance. If you take good care of your spa hygiene, such as cleaning and replacing filters, maintaining water treatment, and showering before each use, this interval can be significantly extended.

During spa and pool maintenance, remember to use cleaning products, descalers, algaecides, maintenance kits, and test strips to monitor your water quality. Whether you need them immediately or in a few weeks, know that we ensure fast delivery thanks to our in-stock products.

What Products to Use in a Spa?

There is a wide range of products to maintain your massage spa, swim spa, or inflatable spa, but which one to choose?
Your spa uses high temperatures that require disinfection to prevent bacterial growth. Several treatments are available, such as:

  • Chlorine: It is the most commonly used and cost-effective product for pool and spa treatment. It is considered an excellent antibacterial and algaecide due to its disinfectant and oxidizing power and is easy to use by simply placing it in the skimmer. However, it can be harsh on the skin and emits an unpleasant odor. You can find it in various formats: tablets, granules, or sticks.
  • Bromine: Less irritating to the skin and eyes than chlorine and odorless, this disinfectant is regularly used to keep water clean and clear. Bromine eliminates microbes, bacteria, and algae.
  • Active Oxygen: This mild treatment is a chemical product used for disinfection and oxidation of water. It kills all bacteria, viruses, and microorganisms. Unlike other products, it dissolves in water without leaving any residue.
  • Ozone: This natural and effective water purification system must be used with another treatment product. Its action in water is brief, lasting only about 15 minutes. Combined with small amounts of chlorine or bromine, ozone helps eliminate bacteria, germs, and all types of residues.
  • Chlorine-Free Shock: This product disinfects water without chlorine. It is a powerful oxidant that effectively eliminates bacteria and residues. It can be used against cloudy or green water or as an activator for bromine. It dissolves quickly and leaves no residue in the spa.

Once your water treatment is complete, you should check the pH of your jacuzzi to balance it if needed. At Boospa, we have a wide selection of these products in stock in powder, liquid, tablets, or granules from brands like HTH, Bayrol, Ocedis, etc. Unsure between two competitively priced products? Feel free to check our product reviews; our satisfied customers regularly share their feedback.

When to Change Spa Water?

Changing your spa water regularly is necessary to avoid cloudy or green water and prevent bacterial growth. However, several factors should be considered, such as the number of users, frequency of use, chemical products, water quality, and filtration. On average, we recommend draining your spa every 3 to 4 months. This depends on your usage and hygiene. This interval can be extended if you regularly clean and replace filters, shower before each use, and perform excellent weekly water treatment.

How to Maintain Spa Structure?

Maintaining your spa involves not only the interior but also the exterior. For example, before draining, it is recommended to clean the pipes with a specific pipe cleaner like Spa Time - Pipe Cleaner. Without this cleaning, you risk bad odors, clogged pipes, and maximum bacterial growth. Then, you can proceed to drain the water for cleaning the tub. Once your spa is cleaned inside and out, you can take care of your cover. Discover all our in-stock products to ensure optimal cleaning of your spa's exterior.

At Boospa, we are committed to providing the highest quality spa maintenance products from brands like HTH and Bayrol at competitive prices to guarantee pure water and a spa always ready for use. Discover our selection in stock and make spa maintenance a simple and effective routine.
